Educator and coach toolkit // The Choose Kindness Project

The Choose Kindness Project is dedicated to inspiring a more inclusive world where all young people feel empowered to be themselves and feel safe to create the futures they imagine. We collaborated with the Choose Kindness Project, Choose Kindness Alliance members, Extra Yard for Teachers, the Walton Family Foundation, and educators from across the country to create a digital toolkit that addresses bullying prevention, intentional inclusion, and mental wellness.

The Choose Kindness Project, Extra Yard for Teachers, and the Walton Family Foundation sought to create a digital toolkit that addresses bullying prevention, intentional inclusion, and mental wellness. Their priorities included aligning resources with authentic needs voiced by educators, providing actionable strategies, and bridging gaps between home and school. NL&D collaborated with all three organizations, strategy and communication consultants, members of the Choose Kindness Alliance (e.g., Special Olympics, Facing History & Ourselves), web developers, and a graphic designer to:

  • Co-create facilitation plans for a convening of teachers, school leaders, and counselors for the purpose of identifying educator needs aligned with the project,

  • Facilitate a discovery process to map Alliance resources to educator needs and to identify gaps in resources,

  • Author original content and co-generate new resources with Alliance members in order to address resource gaps,

  • Draft all web copy and facilitate review cycles across stakeholder teams, and

  • Collaborate with web and graphic designers to give the project shape online.
